Getting
in on the ground floor as an Internet Service Provider Mr. DeRossett
has been in a position to watch trends and develop relationships with
many of the original dot com startups that are now highly successful.
His experiences and vision have led to his ability to be the architect
of numerous technological advances and have given him a unique
understanding of how to integrate these technologies.
He worked for
Laser Identification systems in Camarillo as an application engineer
using Laser devices as marking and engraving tools. For the music
industry, sound studios and related recording studios Mr. DeRossett set
up some of the first video editing. With his assistance, Paramount
studios and the American Film Institute began using Silicon Graphics
computer systems for the archival of film to digital media.
He
is also a member of the ATT wireless developer program as well as a Sun
Microsystems developer and a certified Apple programmer. He has done
research on Radio Frequency (RF) technology with Sun Microsystems and is a developer for RFID programs at Sun.
He is currently an IFX programmer for Automated Clearinghouse Interfaces and ISO 8583 financial messaging; tools used for integration between front end and back end processing for the banking industry.
He has been involved with the Open Source software community for
a number of years. His interest in Smart Phone Linux Operating systems
(SPLOS) has made him a leader in the effort to make cell phones operate
on an Open Source platform.
His interest in nanotechnology has gotten him an invitation to be part of the Foresight Institute a think tank and incubator for
nanotechnology. His ISP currently hosts NanoAlchemy.com and he has
recently been working on a world wide bioinformatics database.
